Is February The Best Time To Buy A Home

A recent report from ATTOM Data Solutions looked at 50 million sales of single family homes and condos between 2000 and 2016 and found that homes that sold during February sell at 6.1% less than the average for the rest of the year.

The New York Times dug a little deeper and found it isn't just the weather that is a factor because warm weather climates follow a similar downward trend. We don't need to tell our readers all the reasons why winter sales prices tend to be lower, but we are curious if you would agree that February is the month when prices are at their lowest.

We looked at the numbers for the past five years for the Mid-Atlantic region and found that January edged out February as being the month most likely to have lowest sales prices (though the two are very close). But what does it looks like at the micro-level? In the neighborhoods where you specialize which month do you think has the best deals, generally speaking?
